Piney Acres Farm
Fortville, Indiana · Hancock County
Opens Nov 21
Opens November 21.
Piney Acres is 73 acres northeast of Indianapolis, and it runs like a farm that expects you to stay a while. A hay wagon carries you out to the u-cut fields and brings you and your tree back to the barn, where the shaking and baling happens over free homemade hot cocoa and popcorn grown on the place. If you'd rather not swing a saw, the pre-cut yard keeps Fraser firs up to twelve feet.
Families who care which tree they get come in early November to tag one — November 1–15, one to five, by appointment. Staff will cut for you if you call ahead, for a $40 fee. Santa turns up on weekend afternoons, the barnyard animals are free to visit, and the farm store carries stands, ornaments, handmade wreaths and swags. Glimmer Lights, the evening train ride to the North Pole, is a separate ticketed event on its own schedule.
