St. Joe Christmas Tree Farm
Fort Wayne, Indiana · Allen County
Opens Nov 27 usual opening — confirm for 2026
Usually opens the Friday after Thanksgiving (Nov 27) — the farm hasn’t posted its 2026 dates yet, so confirm before you drive.
St. Joe is the Fort Wayne farm most families here grew up with, out on St. Joe Road on the northeast side of town. Scotch pine, white pine and Norway spruce are what grow in the cutting fields — the farm says its clay soil leaves only a small patch where firs will take — so the Fraser and Douglas firs come in pre-cut, delivered fresh several times a season. The barn side of the operation turns out fresh wreaths, white pine roping, greenery and bundles of boughs for the porch.
The one thing to sort out before you go: appointments are required for every tree sale, and booking opens on the farm's website during the first full week of November. Ahead of Thanksgiving they sell pre-cut only — the fields open the day after, and that's when the saws come out. Weekends bring the train trolley ride and hot cocoa until five, weather permitting, and the gift shop is full of ornaments. This season's day-by-day schedule goes up in November.
