Noel's is the southern New Hampshire tree trip — 32 acres along the Merrimack in Litchfield, twenty minutes from either Nashua or Manchester. Fraser, balsam and blue balsam fir fill the fields, with a limited run of concolor, and the trees go from tabletop size up to the giants they cut for town greens.
Around the barn there's a petting zoo, hayrides, fire pits, hot cocoa and a Christmas tree maze, with Santa turning up Sunday afternoons and a fireworks night early in the season. Dogs stay home out of respect for the farm animals. Cutting in the fields stops at 4:30 even when the lot is still busy.
This season's opening day hasn't been posted yet. Last year the farm opened the Saturday before Thanksgiving with pre-cut trees and let people into the fields from Black Friday on, but that's last year — check the farm before you load the car.
