Buchanan's Evergreen Farm
Hookstown, Pennsylvania · Beaver County
Opens Nov 21
Opens November 21.
Buchanan's has been cutting trees on Route 18 in Hookstown since 1978, out where Beaver County runs toward the Ohio line — close enough to the airport and the Burgettstown amphitheater that it's the farm most Pittsburgh families think of first. Better than a hundred acres of Canaan fir and Colorado blue spruce, some of it up to sixteen feet.
Cut-your-own trees run six to sixteen feet; the pre-cut rack runs six to ten. The shop has fresh wreaths, ornaments and decorations, and a photographer books mini-sessions the weekend before opening day and again on opening weekend — November 14, 15, 21 and 22, reserved by phone. Two things to sort out before you drive: it's cash or check only, and pets aren't allowed on the farm.
