Opens Nov 21 usual opening — confirm for 2026
Usually opens the weekend before Thanksgiving (Nov 21–22) — the farm hasn’t posted its 2026 dates yet, so confirm before you drive.
Dutchman is the biggest name in Michigan trees. The family planted its first crop near Manton in 1960 and now farms somewhere between nine and ten thousand acres across northern Michigan, selling close to a million trees and roughly half a million wreaths a year — the largest single Christmas tree operation east of the Mississippi.
The choose-and-cut field on Walker Road is the small public corner of all that. Walk the rows and cut your own, or take one already cut and waiting; the crew bales, drills and trims it before it goes in the truck. Kids get a free zip line, a petting zoo, and hot chocolate and cookies, and Santa turns up on a handful of weekend dates.
